The first habitable exoplanet!!!!!l

Gliese 581d is the first planet from around the red dwarf that might be able to maintain life.It was inially judged that it would be to cold to hold life, ."However, later analysis by atmospheric experts showed that if it had liquid oceans like Earth, they would rapidly evaporate in a 'runaway greenhouse' effect similar to that which gave Venus the hot, inhospitable climate it has today."
A new posibitlity came about when a team of astrologers found out that it has the same mass a earth. Many thought that it was Earth's twin out side of the solar  system but my people thought that it did not exist. It was proven found. If it does turn out to be habitable it would have dence air and thik clouds that made it a redish twilight. Also the surface gravity is alost doubled of Earth's. It in fact is almost nothing like Earth.

Waves

In class the past few days we have been learning about waves. I think it it is interesting because before I knew next to nothing about them. I learned there are two main types of waves; Transverse and Longitudinal. I also like doing the experiments with the jump-ropes and the slinky because its easier for me to understand what is going on. I hope to do more experiments like that soon.

Soaring Straws

In science class we did a lab called Soaring Straws. The relation ship between Gravitational Potential energy and Elastic Potential energy is that the more stretch the higher amount of Gravitational Potential energy. The more I stretched the more energy it had.

There were a few problems errors in my project. The first one was when I had to find my rocket in the bin it was missing. Secondly the rubber band on the rocket broke so many times it also cut through the tube so we had to make a new one. Also I was not able to accurately measure how high the rocket went so my data was not entirely correct. To fix this we can use stronger materials and also put tape on the wall and shoot the rocket near the wall to accurately measure.

Science Blog on Class

In class we have been doing punnet squares. I think they are one of the easiest subjects we've ever done in class. The hardest thing was trying to do the second generation and adding it with the first. Other than that I hope the next lesson we do is not to hard.

Pepsi Sciene

PepsiCo Research Lab
Lara Nyman, a Sr. Scientist with PepsiCo, uses a pipette to add new media to cell culture models to look for the effects of exercise on muscle cells. Earlier this year, PepsiCo opened a research lab in New Haven to study and develope healthier products. (STEPHEN DUNN, Hartford Courant / December 28, 2010)

I like this aricle beause it shows that companies acually care about our health. It also tells you what they are doing ,like reduceing the size of salt crystals so that way there is less and more. Preying Mantis

This Praying Mantis is an example of camouflage. It blends in with the sticks on the bush. This helps the Mantis capture bugs, because the bug(s) with think it's landing on a stick. This is also mutualism, because the Preying Mantis gets a home from the bush. Meanwhile the mantis is eating the bugs that want to eat the bushes leaves.
